Understanding Fire Dynamics & Thermal Imaging Training for the Ocean Fire Company Point Pleasant

  • Ocean Fire Company Station 42 400 Arnold Avenue Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, 08742 United States (map)

We will be presenting Understanding Fire Dynamics & Thermal Imaging Training for the Ocean Fire Company Fire Department.

This training session is designed to strengthen firefighters’ understanding of modern fire behavior, hostile fire events, and the practical use of thermal imaging cameras on the fireground. Students will review the science behind fire development, heat transfer, flow path, ventilation impacts, and fireground conditions that can rapidly change during interior operations.

The thermal imaging portion of the program will focus on helping firefighters better understand what their TIC is showing them, how to interpret thermal data, and how to apply that information during size-up, fire attack, search, overhaul, and firefighter safety operations.

Through classroom instruction, discussion, and practical fireground application, members will gain a stronger understanding of how fire dynamics and thermal imaging work together to improve decision-making, enhance situational awareness, and support safer, more effective operations.
