meet Our Instructors

Danny Arroyo

Danny Arroyo serves as a Battalion Chief and Chief of Training with the Perth Amboy Fire Department, bringing extensive experience in fire service operations, leadership, and firefighter safety. Throughout his career, he has held assignments in multiple specialized units, including Special Operations, Marine Division, Peer Support, and the Fire Investigation Unit. He has also served as Honor Guard Commander and as a member of the department’s SCUBA Dive Team, further reflecting his broad operational background.

In addition to his departmental responsibilities, Danny is a Fire Instructor at the Monmouth County Fire Academy, where he is actively involved in the development and delivery of practical, standards-based training. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration and Fire Investigation from Columbia Southern University and is a graduate of the Paramedic Program at Union County College.

Danny is credentialed through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) as both a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Chief Training Officer (CTO). He is also a Certified Training Officer through the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) and maintains numerous professional certifications, including New Jersey Firefighter II, Fire Instructor II, Fire Investigator, Fire Officer II, Incident Management Level III, and Hazardous Materials On-Scene Incident Commander.

He is also a Certified Infrared Thermographer Level I, with a strong focus on fire behavior, thermal imaging, and firefighter safety.

A published author and contributor, Danny has been featured in Fire Engineering, Firefighter Nation, and the ISFSI Newsletter, and he authors a monthly column for the New Jersey FMBA Bulletin focused on training, leadership, and safety culture.

Danny is the Owner and Chief of Training for Fire Training & Consultants, LLC, where he provides progressive, practical, and effective training programs for fire departments across New Jersey and beyond. He also serves as a state advocate for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and as Chairman of the Education & Safety Committee for the New Jersey Firemen’s Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA), continuing his commitment to ensuring firefighters return home safely after every call.

Ryan Dullea

Ryan Dullea has dedicated 16 years to the fire service as both a volunteer and career firefighter, serving in a variety of roles, including Firefighter, Captain, Fire Instructor, Adjunct Fire Science Professor, Fire Department Administrator, Fire Marshal, and technical advisor for Fire and EMS.

He currently serves as a Captain with the Westfield Fire Department, Deputy Fire Marshal for Monmouth County, Loss Investigator for O’Neill Associates, and a technical advisor for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

Ryan holds a Master’s Degree in Administrative Studies and has earned the Certified Public Manager designation. He is credentialed through the Center for Public Safety Excellence as a Fire Marshal (FM). He is also a Certified Fire Investigator through both the State of New Jersey and the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), and an Evidence Collection Technician.

With a diverse background in fire operations, investigations, code enforcement, education, and administration, Ryan brings a well-rounded and practical perspective to every program he delivers.
