Strategic Command and Control: Tactics for Effective Fireground Operations

Battalion Chief Danny Arroyo will be presenting this course for the Stirling Fire Department.

Effective fireground command requires clear priorities, sound decisions, and coordinated action. This course strengthens the ability of fire officers and incident commanders to manage fires in residential and mixed-occupancy buildings across suburban and urban settings.

Participants will examine size-up, command presence, resource deployment, building construction, fire behavior, water supply, ventilation coordination, and firefighter safety. The program emphasizes developing a practical incident action plan, communicating tactical objectives, and adapting operations to changing conditions, available staffing, and occupancy challenges.

Designed for current and aspiring fire officers, company officers, and chief officers, this training connects strategic thinking with practical fireground decisions to support aggressive, coordinated operations while managing risk and maintaining accountability.
