Buildings Under Construction Emergency Prevention & Response: Fire Code Enforcement, Fire Suppression, and Fire Investigators

Captain Ryan Dullea of the Westfield Fire Department will be presenting this course for the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety (NJ DFS) and Kean Fire Safety at the Morris County Fire Academy on October 28th.

Buildings under construction present complex hazards that require coordination between fire prevention, suppression, and investigation personnel. This course examines how these disciplines work together to address construction site risks and prepare for effective emergency operations.

Participants will explore fire code enforcement, pre-incident planning, emergency response, and post-fire investigation considerations. The program emphasizes how collaboration before, during, and after an incident can improve firefighter safety, reduce property loss, and strengthen code compliance.

Designed for fire officials, inspectors, firefighters, fire officers, and investigators, this training connects prevention, operational readiness, and investigative responsibilities. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of their shared roles and how lessons learned can improve future planning and response.
