Fireground Risk Management: How Officers and ISOs Keep Aggressive Operations Survivable
Battalion Chief Danny Arroyo of Fire Training & Consultants, LLC will present this program on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, sponsored by the Cumberland County Fire/EMS Chiefs and Officers Association.
Aggressive fireground operations require continuous risk assessment, clear communication, and sound tactical decisions. This course explores how fire officers and Incident Safety Officers can recognize hazards, evaluate changing conditions, and support effective operations while managing firefighter risk.
Participants will examine practical approaches to assessing building and fire conditions, communicating safety concerns, and providing actionable recommendations to incident command. The program emphasizes the ISO’s role as an active command advisor and the shared responsibility of officers to recognize when tactics need to change.
Designed for firefighters, company officers, chief officers, and Incident Safety Officers, this training connects risk management with the decisions that keep crews accountable and operations coordinated.
